World Refugee Week: Send A Message of Hope
Write Postcards for Syrian Refugees
To commemorate World Refugee Day on June 20, host a postcard writing event to send a message of hope to a Syrian family.
MFA will provide you with blank postcards and a packet of instructional materials. All you need is friends and coloring supplies to draw on the postcards! After writing the postcards, mail them back to MFA. We will include the postcards in an upcoming shipment of humanitarian aid and give to a displaced Syrian family.
Complete the below form with your information and an MFA team member will reach out to you.
Our Focus on Women and Girls
Now in its ninth year, the Syrian crisis has left more than 550,000 people dead. There are some 5.6 million Syrian refugees registered in neighboring countries, and 6.6 million internally displaced people. One of the most brutal aspects of the crisis has been the deliberate targeting of the medical infrastructure — the bombing of hospitals and killing of doctors. The disruption of Syria’s healthcare system has had disastrous impact on the most vulnerable members of the population — women and young children. In response, MFA has been working with its healthcare partners on the ground in northern Syria to address the needs of Syrian women through our Women’s Relief Program.
The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) is the nation’s leading interfaith response to the Syrian refugee crisis. In just two years, MFA has shipped more than $125 million in relief supplies including medicines, hospital equipment, food, clothing, and other supplies to those in desperate need inside Syria and in neighboring refugee camps. MFA is comprised of more than 100 participating organizations. MFA harnesses the power of faith-based and secular organizations to respond to the Syrian crisis.
