CRISIS WORSES IN IDLIB
OVER 1 MILLION DISPLACED
Due to ever-increasing aerial attacks in Idlib, over 1 million people have been forced from their homes since early December.
To respond to the emergency in Idlib, MFA is building tent camps. You can provide a tent shelter for two families with a donation of $300.
Turkey, Russia and the Assad regime are all maneuvering for position in Idlib. The only certainty is that the situation will grow ever worse for the Syrian people.
IDP camps have long been stretched beyond capacity, and local resources are completely exhausted. People are living in open fields – with no shelter of any kind. The overwhelming majority are women and children. It’s the middle of winter and babies are dying in the freezing temperatures.
EMERGENCY TENT PROGRAM
The Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) is the leading interfaith response to the Syrian refugee crisis. MFA has delivered more than $150 million worth of relief supplies to the region since October 2016.
To respond to the emergency in Idlib, MFA is building an Emergency Tent City to shelter displaced people:
The tents, sourced locally, are approximately 13’ x 19’ include floor cover and are supported by iron beams to withstand winter winds.
Each tent is divided into two rooms, to house two families.
The plans include arrangements for water and sanitary facilities and initial basic food rations.
The cost of the tents and the initial set up is only $300 apiece.
